How we ensure Brickit is safe and accessible

Demo lessons center on offline work with LEGO and visual prompts. We plan accommodations in advance and do not collect student personal data.

Data privacy

No student accounts are required during the pilot. Photos and notes capture models and processes, not personal data.

Materials safety

We use offline materials: LEGO, printouts, markers. Devices are optional (scanning from a single device).

Inclusive design

Instructions are stepwise; roles include visual prompts and peer support. Teams help each other.

Accessibility on request

We provide alternative tasks, larger visuals, and pace adjustments. Share needs in advance — we’ll prepare recommendations.

Safeguarding & Risk Assessment (Checklist)

Printable checklist to run safe, inclusive, offline hands-on STEM sessions.

Room setup checked - clear walkways and stable tables
Materials clean, age-appropriate and counted (no sharp/broken parts)
Team roles explained; inclusion and turn-taking agreed
Photo policy: models only (no faces) unless school-approved
Emergency and first-aid contacts available in the room
End-of-lesson cleanup routine and storage confirmed
Teacher observes and intervenes if unsafe handling occurs
Report any incident to school safeguarding lead
